Prototype 1.026

I have to apologize for the lack of serious updates and bugfixes to the prototypes. The vast majority of my time nowadays is spent on school, and much of the remainder of my time on DwarfCorp has been spent working on administrative tasks in preparation for the closed pre-alpha, Steam, and distributing rewards. In addition, we took a huge detour attempting to port DwarfCorp to Linux and Mac prematurely. This was to be the first version of the game available on Linux and Mac, but unfortunately severe, undocumented limitations of the MonoGame framework make it difficult for us to make the game available on those platforms at this time.

That said, I’ve released version 1.026, which fixes some of the more glaring bugs, and adds a few more features:

  • New icons
  • Some sounds get pre-loaded now
  • Changed the way rooms and stockpiles work logically (they now explicitly are attached to a kind of voxel, and stockpiles are special kinds of rooms)
  • Added three new block types to support change to rooms and stockpiles.
  • Fixed crash bug upon ordering/sending out resources
  • Many changes to AI behavior code
  • Changes to GUI code to allow for scroll windows
  • Scroll window in the AI debugger
  • Aniostropic filtering for distant pixels

  • You may want to speak with flibitijibibo (twitter) – he’s a Linux porter and I believe has worked a lot with porting Monogames and SDL-Mono.
